Yesterday I started receiving the first ARC reviews on BookSiren and NetGalley. Some where very encouraging (my first and second five star reviews outside of beta readers!!!) and others not so much (I also got my first two star review).
I know no book is universally liked. I myself have disliked authors and books that other people love. It's the nature of literature, some stories will resonate with you, others won't.
It warms my heart that one thing that has been universally liked (even by the 2 star reviewer) is the relationship between Ana and her nephew. My inspiration was my own interactions to my own 4 year-old nephew, so that is something very close to my heart.
Whispers has already achieved its goal. I had put in my mind that if one, a single individual, read and liked it, than it would be enough for me. So how lucky am I that Whispers is not even out and my dream came true already??!!
Now, on to keep writing my next story. Can't wait to tell the world about it!
As I wait for my editor (shoutout to Keely and the team from Hot Tree Editing!) to do a final eyes review of my manuscript, I've set the official release date for Whispers From the Edge of the World. May 20th it is!
